The Justice Democrats are working hard to create a progressive political party in America, one that owes its allegiance to the people and not to corporations. This is not a fantasy, this is real and already making a difference. We have several great candidates running, many in training, and scores being vetted. We also have a sitting representative, Ro Khanna!

None of the people below are taking any corporate donations so please check out their pages and platforms and help them in any way you can, through volunteering or donations.

A quick note on Independent Republicans:

While the Just Us podcast was founded to support Justice Democrats, we have allied ourselves with Brand New Congress which is working on repealing and replacing ALL corrupt corporate politicians, not just in the Democratic party. I realize that many of you will find it unsettling to ever vote for someone with an R next to their name, but consider this: if there are people out there who genuinely want to nonviolently overthrow corrupt, racist, and anti-human rights members of a party whose leadership includes open Neo Nazis and bigots…shouldn’t we consider those people heroes and give them all the support we can?

I will, of course, leave you to make your own opinions, but if there is a Brand New Congress candidate running who refuses to take corporate bribes, has a platform in support of democracy and human rights, and evidence that they are genuine, I will support them on this podcast. As someone who considers himself somewhere between a Green and a Democratic Socialist, I won’t be forced into a false box of party unity and voting for someone with an R next to their name is only slightly more unsettling to me than voting for someone with a D.

One last thought on this: Consider Robb Ryerse, a Brand New Congress candidate running as an Independent Republican. Robb is running in a heavily Republican area and the last two elections saw a Republican candidate beating a libertarian by over fifty percent with no real sign of the Democratic party at all. It’s my opinion that running a candidate who is against big money and in favor of health care but has an “R” next to his or her name is a smart move in places like this. Yes, I’d prefer a Democrat, hell I’d prefer a Social Democrat, but that a person with those credentials is unlikely to actually win the vote, and yet Robb and I will still agree on the majority of the most important issues, so why should I get in his way and risk loosing to someone on the far right? We will try to have Robb on this podcast so we can explore areas of similarity and differences, but I suspect that in this post-partisan age, we will have more in common than not and recommend you strongly consider him despite the “R”, especially if no progressive opponent on the left appears.

We are honored to have the Representative Ro Khanna not just endorse be our first previously elected official to join the Justice Democrats. Ro Khanna is one of very few elected to the Congress who does not take big money donations and in many ways his success helped pave the way for the Justice Democrats to be created.

Mr. Khanna has been endorsed by heavy hitters such as former President Jimmy Carter, multiple unions, mayors, governors, several newspapers, and a long list of business leaders. Read his endorsements here.

Candidates Also Worth Considering

The candidates below have not officially taken the label of Justice Democrat but there is evidence that they are in line with our principles. Please encourage them to adopt the label as Ro Khana has done and consider giving them your support as well.

Note: There are two Republicans not listed below who do the right thing by not taking PAC money but fail to be progressive or extraordinary in other important ways. I did not feel it was appropriate to list them and give the impression of support. For example, they both voted in favor of Trumpcare. Their names are Phil Roe and Francis Rooney.
